Conference & Events Specialist
- Work collaboratively, as well as independently, to develop, produce, and execute a variety of corporate events, logistics, planning, and administrative needs. These will include workshops, conferences, and employee functions.
- Manage variety of events formats (in person, virtual, hybrid) coordinating logistics of event setup, livestream production, event technical management, and physical venue arrangements.
- Create, plan, and execute detailed project plans including event timeline schedules, venue selection and contracts, food & beverage logistics, attendee management, and post-survey engagement results.

Payroll Staff III/IV
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, tax laws, and labor laws, including reporting and remittance requirements
- Manages day-to-day activities with payroll vendor, directing resolution for hard-to-solve issues that are escalated
- Maintains primary accountability for off-cycle payments, including issuing stop-payments, reissuing new checks, ensuring that calculations are accurate, and that payments are issued consistent with federal and state regulations
- Oversees responses to internal and external payroll audits, providing necessary documentation and resolving any identified issues
- Implements process improvement and cost optimization by analyzing payroll data and reports to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies
- Maintains current subject matter expert level knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in payroll administration, technology, and compliance; implement change to corporate processes to ensure compliance and efficiency
- Develops and document payroll procedures, guidelines, and standard operating processes to ensure consistent and efficient payroll operations
- Trains and mentor payroll staff to ensure they are proficient in payroll procedures
- Serves as a subject matter expert on payroll-related matters, collaborating with peer corporate services departments including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Benefits, Compensation, People Analytics, People Experience, People Management, People Strategy, People Systems, and other related touchpoints at The Aerospace Corporation
- Ensures confidentiality and security of employee payroll and personal information.
- Serves as key resource to stakeholders for interpreting policies, procedures, and regulations relating to Payroll; draft, refresh, and revise Time policies as needed
- Serves as Communications and Change Management process advisor for Payroll processes and procedures; provides continuous process improvement on policies and practices
- Supports quarterly and annual fiscal-year end planning for Payroll reporting, tax compliance, and in support of state and federal regulations including the year-end W2 process
- Serves as Payroll implementation subject matter expert on new compensation and benefit plans (deductions & wages); partners with Compensation and Benefits teams on interpretation and implementation
- Directs maintenance of payroll systems and software, ensuring that configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and enhancements to ensure that systems are implemented are compliant, efficient, and consistent with corporate policy
- Ensures accuracy of staff performing complex payroll calculations, including variable pay components, retroactive adjustments, and special payments

- Lead and manage Aerospace support to SSC/BZG (Global Mission Operations), including forward deployed personnel from ETG and other program offices
- Establish trusted relationships with the SSC/SSIO leadership team with a focus on end to end integration to enable capability delivery for the space enterprise architecture
- Provide senior technical guidance within teams of Government, Aerospace, support contractors, and other FFRDC personnel to monitor program efforts, identify and resolve technical and performance integration risks/issues, and develop strategic roadmaps
- Provide leadership for team members and staff, setting strategy, goals, expectations and direction, mentoring, providing feedback, succession planning, and coaching aimed at building and maintaining an agile and capable team
- Collaborate with colleagues across Aerospace groups to deliver coordinated technical products in a timely and effective manner
- Demonstrate technical leadership in order to drive the development of systems engineering products in support of complex integration problems
- Conduct budget planning and allocation of resources, including identifying and hiring to fill needed positions and coordinating ETG support.
- Provide proactive support to customers to identify high value work for Aerospace, translating customer requests into technical priorities and planning and managing the team accordingly

- Moderate level of travel will be required
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, mathematics or equivalent discipline
- Minimum 12 years of progressively demonstrated management and technical experience, including multi-disciplinary systems engineering
- Previous people management experience and the ability to perform resource planning, staffing, coaching and mentoring, and performance and development of team.
- Proven experience with building, leading, and maintaining integrated multidisciplinary mixed government, SE&I, SETA and FFRDC teams
- Demonstrated ability to make time-critical mission success decisions with ambiguous or incomplete data
- Demonstrated experience working across organizations and leading teams of technical experts and support staff; success as a relationship builder, complex problem solver, deep critical thinker, mentor, and coach
- Broad experience across a variety of space disciplines such as acquisition, systems engineering, integration & test, or operations
- Excellent social skills enabling effective communication and relationship building with customers, direct reports, colleagues, and senior management.
- Ability to travel as required (approx. 15 %)
- Active Top Secret / SCI clearance with ability to obtain Special Access (SAP) and maintain clearance, issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
- 15 or more years of progressively responsible professional engineering/scientific experience
- Advanced technical degree in engineering, science or math
- A strategic vision for how you would leverage the organization to address near-term integration challenges
- Experience leading a technical organization
- Demonstrated ability to work across a diverse array of partners in the National Security Space Enterprise including partners beyond SSC.
- Experience performing systems integration in other domains, in addition to space
- Prior management role in direct support of a government customer in program office
- Proven ability to work in fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

- Coach and partner with managers and employees at all levels to provide objective guidance and advice regarding employment policies, procedures, and employment practices to achieve resolution of complex issues such as misconduct, performance deficiencies, as well as accommodation requests.
- Conduct effective investigations, including thoughtful conclusions and recommendations; draft and deliver comprehensive reports.
- Provide expert direction, guidance, and consultation on a wide range of complex employee relations issues.
- Become a subject matter expert (SME) in our performance evaluation processes; keep up to date on external performance management trends.
- Develop and provide training on all aspects of goal setting, feedback, performance review preparation, and discussions, to include Workday systems usage.
- Interpret and research policies and procedures, incorporating knowledge of state and federal employment laws (i.e. ADA, FMLA, EEO) and practices to recommend resolutions.
- Work closely with management, Strategic People Partners (SPPs), and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
